Welcome to our Build a Dog a Home website.

Forest Dog Rescue has been saving the lives of stray and unwanted dogs in the Wyre Forest area for the past ten years. Throughout it's past the rescue has managed to continue offering a safe and secure environment for hundreds of dogs throughout some of the hardest times thanks to the support received from local boarding kennels, the general public and local businesses.

Now as we stride into the next 10 years we are even more determined to ensure all of our good work continues.

Today we launch our biggest appeal to date and quite unlike any other we have ever carried out.

"Build a Dog a Home" is exactly what it says, just like other well known rescue centres we are going to build a rescue centre to cater for local dogs that really need us and would face an uncertain future without us. Through our own centre we would be able to offer a less stressful environment for dogs when they arrive into care and increase their chances of rehoming.

We fully understand that the challenge ahead is huge and the initial costs involved currently out of our reach, but 10 years ago none of the rescues volunteers would have ever imagined the importance of a small charity in 2007 let alone it's ongoing existence.

The charity is protected by a small group of very dedicated volunteers that are committed to it's future and are determined to achieve this common goal but also have a very realistic view on life and are under no elusion that this development will happen over night and fully understand that the feet is impossible without the help of an increase of external support and donations.

So the challenge starts here and has been broken down into 3 very important stages.

 Stage 1                      Stage 2                       Stage 3
The Land                   The Build                      The Move

A dedicated volunteer task force has been created to ensure the project focus is maintained. The number one goal will be project fundraising and gaining expert assistance. Local business will be invited to assist though sponsoring and supplies alone with support from the general public.

The continuation of fund raising is paramount to the current day to day running of the charity and will continue to run alongside "Build a Dog a Home" and only additional funds raised especially for this project will be used. An existing bank of volunteers will continue to fund raise and ensure that the smooth running of the current dog welfare and rehoming programme continues and does not get affected or overlooked in any way while the project runs.
